A day in... Malmö

Malmö, maybe not the first city that comes to mind when people are planning a trip to Sweden... however it's a beautiful city, with many possibilities! Whether you like to go shopping, biking, boating, sightseeing, partying or just relaxing... Malmö is the place to be!

The old town is just lovely, people are very friendly and the food (and drinks) are really good!!! I especially loved Lilla Torg (a very old, cosy square with many bars and restaurants) and the Rådhuset (City Hall), where one of my Swedish friends married the love of her life!

The second picture shows the "Turning Torso" a famous building by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.
The last picture shows the "Non-violence" or knotted revolver statue by Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd.

Go and check it out... it's worth it!

Missoni & the Muzungu Sisters

Missoni and the Muzungu Sisters are the perfect combination! They have already produced a pair of beautiful loafers together... but this is my take on it: a bikini by Missoni and a sarong by the Muzungu Sisters. I love how the colours and prints work together!

Happy Ferragosto!

Happy or "Buon Ferragosto" to all my Italian friends! For those of you who don't know this holiday, the 15th of august is the date the Catholic Church celebrates the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

It's a national holiday in many Mediterranean (and other Catholic) countries, such as Spain, Portugal, Greece, Chile, Colombia, etc. etc. Only in Italy it's called "Ferragosto" though, a (pagan) celebration that dates back to the time of the Roman Emperor Augustus.

In Italy most people go to the beach, to relax, meet up with family and friends and to enjoy never-ending lunches! A traditional Ferragosto dish is grilled pigeon, but many italians just have a 'regular' BBQ or 'grigliata' on the beach. Buon appetito!

People... oxeye daisy print

This gentleman at the Pitti Uomo trade show in Florence could not be missed! His oxeye daisy print vest really turned heads. Or maybe it was not just because of the daisies... but because of the whole outfit. The (too) short pants, the Converse All Stars, the purple Ray-Bans, his rolled up sleeves... all combined it is an almost clownesque look, but he still manages to be elegant!
Like it?

Firenze4Ever, 5th edition

Firenze4Ever, the most important fashion bloggers event on the globe was held for the 5th time last june! Luisa Via Roma the on- and off line luxury fashion retailer in Florence sure knows how to throw a party and how to create a lot of buzz.

There were bloggers from all over the world (incl. China, Australia, the US) as well as international designers, models, photographers... Just to name a few: Chiara Ferragni from The Blonde Salad, Andy Torres from Style Scrapbook, Myakuo from Haibao, Wendy Nguyen, Zanita, Bag Snob, Fashiolista, Josie Loves and many more!

The crowd in Florence went crazy.... they stood in front of the store for hours, watching everybody who went in and out. At a certain point the rumour went around that Madonna was going to visit the store... so even more people arrived (as you can see on the photos).

But what Firenze4Ever was really all about: famous bloggers who got the opportunity to create their own fashion shoots, depicting the Fall/Winter 2012-2013 collections, using models, make-up artists, hairdressers and photographers all provided by Luisa Via Roma! What a brilliant idea by owner Andrea Panconesi!

On the photos shown here, you can see among others the ladies from Haibao, Josie Loves, Andy Torres, Zanita, fashion designer Rosita Missoni, Luisa Via Roma employee Kerima, Dutch designers Conny Groenewegen, Franciscus van Benthum and Ralph Vaessen.
(Oh and me, without make-up. I know... what was I thinking?!)
