White Party on board

This summer I went cruising with Club Med in the Mediterranean and one of the dresscodes was “all white”. It was my first cruise and my first “white party”… and I have to say: it was epic! Club Med sure knows how to throw a party; in fact every day we danced the night away under the stars… But the white party was definitely the most special evening of them all. Practically everyone respected the dress code and all the guests and G.O.s (Club Med staff members) looked spectacular!

Before our departure, we were informed about the various party themes and dress codes, so I threw a white vintage dress in my suitcase and it turned out to be a great match with the party decorations… very funny! The party started by daylight with cocktails and ended with Brazilian music (and many more cocktails & champagne) early in the morning…

Catch of the Day... Antica Sartoria bag

Summer isn't over yet... or at least, I keep that summer feeling wearing my "Catch of the Day"... a beaded bag by Antica Sartoria. The colours, the design, the coral and turquoise charms.... I simply love it!

Antica Sartoria is an italian fashion brand originally from Positano. Thanks to the popularity of the brand, these days you'll find shops in several towns along the italian coast, such as Capri, Amalfi, Portofino and Sorrento. But beware... it's impossibile to walk out empty-handed!

Princess Diana, 20th anniversary of her death

August 31st 2017 marks the 20th anniversary of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. I never met her, nor did I ever see her in real life, but she touched me and millions of others with her smile, kindness and incredibly big heart. May her legacy live on forever.

Photo's taken at MATE, Museo Mario Testino, in Lima, Peru.

Seven year itch?

Seven year itch? Not for me and my blog! Today I'm celebrating the seven year anniversary of Tara's Dolce Vita and I can't believe how far I've come... A big thank you to my loved ones (you know who you are!) and of course to all of you for following and supporting me! Cheers, cin cin, santé, salud, proost.... to many more years to come.

Cruising with Club Med

Relaxing by the pool, cocktail in hand, meeting new people, exploring new places, sightseeing in charming old villages, shopping for cute souvenirs, eating fresh fruit, salad and grilled fish for lunch, with a sea view, watching dolphins swim by, waterskiing, spending long summer nights under the starry sky, dancing salsa, partying all night long… what more can you wish for on your summer holiday?

Exactly! My holiday ticked all the boxes, when I went cruising on one of the biggest (if not the biggest) sailingships in the world, the Club Med 2. It was a dream come true! Or actually, I have to admit I never really dreamed about going on a cruise. Like many people, I had my reservations (and maybe even some prejudices) about cruising. Boy, was I wrong!

There was a young crowd, who liked to be active during the day and party every night. There were great G.O’s (“gentils organisateurs”), in other words Club Med staff members, who went to great lengths to make sure you had a good time. They became like family.

We departed from Nice, France and sailed around the island of Corsica, stopping along the way. First stop was the small town of Calvi, second Bonifacio, which was mindblowing and last but not least, Portofino in Italy, before we returned to Nice. I absolutely loved all these ports of call! For those who know me that should come as no surprise, since I love boats, marinas, harbours and cities by the sea.

Every night there was a cocktail party with a different dress code, so I packed for a "45" theme (read more about it here:, a nautical theme, a white party and a gala night.
The stern of the ship was the place to be. Every afternoon after the guests had their last dip in the pool, the G.O.s decorated the whole area, turning it upside down and transforming it into a chic club.

I had the time of my life and could go on and on about it (and have hundreds of photos…), so I will be back soon with more stories about this amazing sailing cruise!
