Hotel Hacienda Na Xamena, Ibiza

If you go to Ibiza and you're done with all the wannabe hippies or wannabees in general for that matter... then go to hotel Hacienda Na Xamena!

It's a gorgeous place, away from all the clubs and all the madness. The hotel was built in 1969 by Belgian architect Daniel Lipszyc, on top of the cliffs, overlooking the sea, located 180 meters above sea level.

I can't think of a better place to relax... ahh (can't wait to go back either)! The moorish tiles and the use of other local materials, make this place different from all the big hotel chains. It feels more like home. A luxurious home that is.

Urban Jungle... Milan

While I was wandering through Milan, I came across these fun grafittis. I love the real plants right in the middle of the painted ones!

People... the Japanese scene in Milano

"Chapeau!" to these Japanese visitors of the Salone del Mobile...
it takes strong people to go on in such difficult times!

This photo was taken in the courtyard of 10 Corso Como, Milan, Italy, which during Fashion Week and the Milanese Design Week, becomes something like a street theatre!

10 Corso Como, rooftop garden

Check out at this beautiful rooftop garden by 10 Corso Como! If you look around you, it's an urban jungle, with all the skyscrapers and construction works... but if you focus on the flowers, plants, art, statues and pottery... it's like a 'safe haven' or oasis. The perfect place to get away from it all. Too bad the weather wasn't very good when I was there, but still, I would really recommend it.

People... and a cute little dog!

Don't you think these sisters and their dog look super cute?!
I do! By the way, they're really good models too!

Spritz the perfect aperitivo!

Spritz is one of my favourite ''aperitivi". It's an Italian cocktail based on prosecco, a bitter liqueur like Campari or Aperol and a little bit of sparkling mineral water.

Not only does it taste good.... it looks pretty good too, don't you think? And it's very easy to prepare at home. So next time you throw a party, you know what to serve!

The Spritz on the photo was made by 10 Corso Como, Milan.

Vogue España goes Brasil

The latest edition of Vogue España is dedicated to Brasil. With sexy Brasilian model Isabeli Fontana on the cover and loads of other beautiful shots by Mario Testino, Victor Demarchelier, David Vasiljevic .... this is an issue too good to be true!

Filled with sexy bikinis, surf accessories, smoking hot summer dresses... it's a must buy for your summer holidays!
(And for me a collector's item!)

People... friends on the beach

I saw these girls on the beach and what struck me was, that their styles were similar (flimsy summer dresses), yet with personal details (check out the belt and the vest).
You could still see though that they were friends!

Your face on a KLM plane?

Check out this Delft blue tile made by me on the KLM website...
it's such a cool application, you should try it yourself!

The new worldwide KLM campaign ‘Tile & Inspire' invites fans from around the globe to create a Delft blue tile showing their picture and a personal message. The tiles submitted by participants put them in the running to have their message placed on a real Boeing 777-200.

People... at the Salone del Mobile, part 1

At the Salone del Mobile in Milan, no matter where the visitors came from, Japan, Brasil, Italy... dressing was all about the details! And especially about (colourful) scarves.

Salone del Mobile 2011... the highlights

Here are some highlights of the Salone del Mobile 2011. I absolutely loved the transparent furniture at the Kartell stand, as well as the big mask chairs (called Nemo) by Fabio Novembre for Driade!!! I think no one could resist sitting in them.

And of course the Missoni stand as pictured on my blog of April 17:  http://tarasdolcevita.blogspot.com/2011/04/missoni-at-salone-del-mobile.html
