Getting your house ready for Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner! With only a few more days left to prepare... I went to garden centre De Bosrand in Wassenaar to get some inspiration and buy the "mandatory" pumpkins and Halloween decorations. While pumpkins and scary embellishments play an important role in Halloween, garden centre De Bosrand shows that it doesn't all have to be orange and black! You can decorate your house with warm fall colours that will last until Thanksgiving!

Fall Wishlist

Fall is here again! Falling leaves, rain and stormy weather, chestnuts, pumpkins, Halloween... It's a season that I love, although I have to admit I don't like those fall storms too much. However, it does give you a good reason to get your house all cosy and comfortable! And it's a very good excuse to buy a warm blanket by Missoni or a comfy sweater by Isabel Marant...

I Looove... Monochrome dressing!

Monochrome dressing is having a moment... and I'm a big fan (always have been)! Maybe it's a reaction to all the graphic and flower prints that we have seen lately... or maybe it's just easy to wear a monochrome outfit in a chaotic world... who knows? But it's definitely a trend that's here to stay. Many fashion designers were showing monochrome looks in their spring-summer '15 collections, so get ahead of the crowd and buy your monochrome outfit this fall!

Hotel Belmond Palacio Nazarenas, Cusco, Peru

There are times when I question whether I should share a well kept secret on my blog. This is one of them... But sometimes it just feels great to reveal a secret and let others join the fun! Belmond Palacio Nazarenas is an amazing hotel in the heart of Cusco, that few people know about. This former convent was completely restored and turned into a luxurious hideaway for business travelers, vacationers and newlyweds alike.

The suites are so refined; the countless courtyards, picturesque gardens, balconies and the gorgeous swimming pool make you want to stay in the hotel and never ever leave! I have to say, the Belmond Palacio Nazarenas is one of the most (if not THE most) romantic hotels I ever stayed in.

Hotel management has taken care of every single detail. Fresh flowers upon arrival is a very nice touch! The same can be said of the check-in process that is handled in your room. Silk and terry cloth robes, handmade rosemary soap, heated bathroom floors, complimentary snacks and drinks make you feel really spoilt.

Palacio Nazarenas is decorated with incredible style. The colours, the antique furniture, the beautiful paintings and artifacts are chosen with great care and will make you feel right at home. Medicinal herbs, indigenous plants and fragrant flowers grow in the lovely gardens. Small Inca-style water channels lead the way to the pool and the spa.

I also loved the small boutique that offers a wide range of high quality souvenirs and other musthaves. They sell traditional Peruvian hats, ceramics, toiletries that are used in the spa and the cutest do-not-disturb and please-make-up-room signs ever!

Oh, I almost forget to tell you about the wonderful restaurant... I had the most delicious quinoa pancakes ever... to name just one dish. But whatever you order, you can't go wrong.

The hotel is conveniently located in front of the Museo de Arte Precolombino (including another stunning restaurant) and only a 2 minute walk from the main square, the Plaza de Armas... I really wouldn't know which hotel would be a better place to stay in Cusco!
