Moët & Chandon Ice Imperial... Ooh La La

The latest addition to the Moët & Chandon family is Moët & Chandon Ice Imperial. This brand new vintage comes in a gorgeous, must-have white bottle and is going to be the hit of this summer, I'm sure!

The champagne is a blend of pinot noir, pinot meunier, and chardonnay and is the wold's first champagne that must be drunk with ice!!! Ice... in my champagne you might ask? Yes, believe me, it's a very special experience. And you'll be back for more!

To get the most (flavour) out of it, you don't just add three ice cubes, but a bit of lemon zest and some fresh mint leaves as well....

The ice cubes of course don't fit in a normal champagne flute, so Moët came up with the wonderful idea of creating special white wine glasses for it. Oh if I could only take these home...

NB. Moët & Chandon Ice Imperial will only be available at exclusive locations, like luxurious hotels and restaurants.

La Maison... Cuban fashion house

La Maison 'Su Casa de la moda en Cuba', located in Havana, in the fancy Miramar area, is not only a villa with a clothing store, but also a venue for fashion shows and live music. Furthermore, it hosts a restaurant and a small club.

La Maison sells everything from sportswear to cocktaildresses, from casual collections to beachwear, from jeans to men's suits.

You are greeted at the door by beautiful Cuban models that bring you to your table in the garden behind the villa. There you can have dinner, a mojito or nice glass of wine, sit back and enjoy the show!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the gorgeous models... some of them could really make it in Paris or New York, if they just got the chance. And if they do... they will give Gisèle & Co. a run for their money!

The fashion shown there was sometimes a bit too eccentric for my taste, but hey... you don't have it like it all, do you?

The shows were entertaining by itself, just like the clientele: rich and famous Cubans (including baseball players from the national team),
as well as expats and tourists.

And gentlemen... even if you don't like fashion, you'll thank me for sending you over there...

Buying jewelry online?

Buying online usually starts with a plane ticket or a concert ticket. Followed by books, CDs and clothing. Shoes maybe.
But jewelry? Not many people got the nerve.

So when I ordered a pair of Isharya earrings at NET-A-PORTER.COM (the world's premier online luxury fashion retailer), everyone thought I was crazy. And then the perfect little package arrived....
I couldn't have been happier!

Here they are, my new Isharya earrings!!!!

La Cuisine Espresso-Studio, Düsseldorf, Germany

While strolling through Düsseldorf I came accross this lovely espresso store & bar. Selling coffee and everything that goes with it (coffee machines, cups, trays), it's the perfect souvenir store. Especially since La Cuisine Espresso-Studio is located close to the Schlossturm and other touristic sites.

Oh and while you're buying presents and choosing your favourite espresso to bring back home, you might as well drink one right there at the bar. The Brasilian shop assistant Regiane will be more than happy to tell you everything about how coffee is made, where it comes from, etc.

Open from monday through friday, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.
and on saturday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

People... at Blau Varadero

These are some of the lovely people I met at Hotel Blau Varadero.

By the way check out the blue nails Lluba has! I noticed that Cuban women really put a lot of effort in the way they look.

Unfortunately, many girls who looked absolutely stunning (think pretty cocktail dresses, very very high heels, cute hairdo's) did not want to have their picture taken.

Hotel Blau Varadero 2011

Hotel Blau Varadero in Cuba is still one of my favourite destinations! So I went back this summer and was greeted with open arms: "Welcome back mi amor"! Now that's a wonderful way to start your holiday.

As you can read in my earlier blog, Hotel Blau Varadero offers something for everyone: from scuba diving to sailing, from salsa dancing to spanish lessons, from the pool to the beach, from the à la carte restaurants to the beach bar...

You can even get married there!
