Flashback to Fashion Week
Paris Fashion Week is going on in full swing. Trends are made, new designers are discovered, streetstyle stars strut their stuff, celebrities make surprise appearances at the shows (with new lovers, babies, dogs and/or friends) and of course every look is studied and Instagrammed!
However, before going to New York, London, Milan and Paris... the fashion crowd kicked the new season off in Amsterdam! So let's look back at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam, which was held from the 8th until the 18th of January 2016. Some of the highlights were the shows by Monique Collignon, Tony Cohen and SIS by Spijkers en Spijkers. (I will focus on separate shows in other blogs that will follow soon.)
Another memorable show was the one by Esther Haamke. Her collection had a "Happiness" theme and alluded to the materialistic world we live in, by throwing (fake) money in the air and by using prints with the words "winner" and "lucky". Esther Haamke's collection is definitely not for the fainthearted, but sure was a lot of fun! It probably sums up the Amsterdam vibe... progressive, open-minded, unconventional, different from all the rest.
Pink dress by Pitti Vintage.
Striped skirt by Paris Ricci.
