I miss Italy....

Today I was looking through my (zillions of) photos of Italy and realised how much I miss it! They say "a picture is worth more than a thousand words". So just take a look. Wouldn't you want to wake up to this view tomorrow?

Happy 150th Birthday Italy!

This marvelous country with its 20 regions and 110 provinces combines mountains with beaches, beautiful cities with cute little villages.... snow with sun.... northern precision with southern passion...

Furthermore, Italy offers its inhabitants and the rest of the world incredible art, ravishing fashion (Valentino Garavani, Versace, Gucci, Emilio Pucci, Etro, Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino), wonderful cuisine including pasta and pizza, fine wines (Amarone, Tignanello, Chianti Classico, Greco di Tufo, etc.), delicious coffee such as espresso and cappuccino, yummy fruit and vegetables (what to think of those gorgeous tomatoes?!), unforgettable literature (Dante, Boccaccio, Petrarca, Leopardi, Machiavelli, Manzoni, Tommasi di Lampedusa, Eco), beautiful music, including opera lirica... Pavarotti..... Andrea Boccelli..... and on and on.....
Cities like Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples, Turin.....

What's not to like? This is as good as it gets!!! So I say "Auguri Italia"..... Happy 150th birthday! And many more to come.

Buy Wine Event Tuscany

The first Buy Wine event in Tuscany was held november 25-26th in Florence, Italy at the former trainstation Leopolda. First of all the venue was great!!! (They use it for fashion shows and big parties as well.)

There were 177 wine producers present from the region Tuscany, to 'show off' their beautiful wines. The buyers and journalists came from all of the world (Brasil, Chile, US, UK, The Netherlands, Norway, Japan, etc.) It was amazing to see all those wines...... and all those people.... who were so passionate about their products.

The event was organized really well. It was 2 days of business meetings and - of course - lot's of wine tastings. Since we were in Italy....they didn't just serve delicious wines, but also some really good food!
