Belvedere restaurant, Warsaw, Poland

Warsaw is probably not the first place that comes to mind when thinking about great cuisine... but I have to tell you.... I did find it right there in the Polish capital!

Belvedere Restaurant is in fact a very special place, that I discovered through a colleague. It's located in the orangerie of the Warsaw Royal Bath Gardens, in the outskirts of Warsaw, so take a cab to get there and don't be surprised by the surroundings... (We arrived in the dark and wondered if we were in the right spot, but it all turned out just fine! During the day, it's very different.)

The Belvedere offers a mixture of Polish and international dishes, including 'zurek' (sour rye soup) and the famous 'pierogi' (dumplings, traditionally stuffed with saurkraut or potatoes).
Not feeling very adventurous? Just take the risotto, the shrimp salad or the steak tartare, all from the chef's signature menu. By the way, they serve a few pleasant vegetarian options as well.

The Belvedere is a very exclusive restaurant, fit for an important business dinner, a romantic date, sunday brunch, or even for a wedding reception! I was blown away by all the plants surrounding the tables... truly unforgettable. Next time you're in Warsaw, check it out!
