Dutch Design Week '11

The 10th edition of the Dutch Design Week was a big succes! The whole city of Eindhoven was yet again invaded by design and designers.
Many, if not all, disciplines of design where there to be seen and admired. Industrial design, product design, graphic design, textile and fashion... too much to mention. And... too much to visit in one day or even in a week!
During the Dutch Design Week there are exhibitions, product launches, lectures, workshops, but also many parties.

Unfortunately I did not have the time to visit all the different venues, or to buy everything I liked....

People... daring accessories

This italian lady is wearing a relatively simple dress, with a daring combination of accessories: beautiful high heels, a fringed bag and a signature necklace. The photo was taken at Stefano Mortari's showroom in Milan. (If I remember well, the lady is a friend and client of the designer).

Cute little pullovers

This fall/winter it's all about cute little pullovers! Preferably cropped and with an animal print. I couldn't resist adding the grey one with zigzag pattern though.

The ones pictured here feature birds, cats, sheep and deer! Oh boy... I would like to buy them all...

Things I love... in the fall

Things I love (to do) in the fall:

Walking through the parc, the woods, or on an almost empty beach…

Watching the ships roll in the harbour...

Watching the leaves fall from the trees…

Picking a nice bouquet to fill my house & heart...

Buying new shoes & clothes for the new season...
And drinking a hot coffee to get warm (or a vin brulé for that matter)!

I Looove... Graciela's Pug T-shirts

Ever since I came across Graciela Avendano's Pug T-shirts, I was hooked! The collection was inspired by her dog Maya, who is a V.I.D. (Very Important Dog) by now.

Graciela uses vintage as well as new fabrics to make the pug silhouette. If you're lucky, you can get your hands on one of the Pucci t-shirts! But the other ones are cute too. Oh, before I forget, if you're more of a cat lover, you can ask for a cat silhouette instead.

Cuban balconies

During my last trip to Cuba all these beautiful balconies caught my attention. Some -unfortunately- in very bad shape, others recently restored. The first and the last photo were taken at the Hotel Sevilla, the setting for Graham Greene's famous novel "our man in Havana".
