Happy Halloween

I wish everyone (who will be celebrating) a Happy Halloween! Halloween is not really my kind of holiday, but I do like to decorate the house and garden with pumpkins and some Halloween decorations. How about you? Will you dress up? Let me know in the comments!

Umbria Jazz 50th Anniversary

In 2023 the Umbria Jazz festival celebrated it's 50th anniversary. It was a memorable edition! With big names like Herbie Hancock, Brad Mehldau, Bob Dylan, Paolo Conte, Mika, Joe Bonamassa and many many more, the festival really outdid itself this year.

The location of the biggest jazz festival in Italy is Perugia, which has a lot to offer. From beautiful architecture (including a real fortress built in 1543), interesting museums to cosy winebars, great restaurants, trendy shops ... this city has it all. Oh well... maybe there is one thing missing. Wonder what? The sea. But I promise that's the only thing.

Perugia and Umbria have stolen my heart many years ago. If you haven't visited Umbria and the Umbria Jazz festival yet, you should definitely give it a try, I am sure you won't regret it!

Fashion trend: Dégradé or ombré

The dégradé or ombré fashion trend has been going on for a while now. It started with summer fashion items that resembled the sunset, but now it's a big hit for Fall/Winter 2023-2024 as well. Just look at the latest Goldbergh skiwear collection, featuring a hooded knit sweater in gradient colors.

According to the Business Of Fashion "Dégradé is where a fabric’s colour, or the fabric itself, fades like a sunset, from the densest pigment or thread to the finest. It is a popular technique in couture, with all the colours of the spectrum, from the deepest to the lightest, are often used in velvets or silks."

Whether it's a pair of flipflops, a summer dress, a raincoat or a hoodie, I like everything dégradé or ombré, because it gives me that vacation feeling! How about you?

I Looove... Yellow!

Yellow... not a very flattering color according to many people. But I absolutely looove yellow! It's a positive, vibrant, happy color if you ask me. In spring it's the epitome of Easter, in summer it stands for the sun. But I also like to wear the color yellow in fall and winter, as it spices up my outfits and -just as important- my mood.

Some of my favorite dresses are yellow; one by Zara is made of yellow sequins and the other one, by Agua by Agua Bendita is a lovely firefly print. My favorite coat is yellow as wel, it's a faux fur jacket by Zara. Contrary to what you might think, yellow is quite versatile. You can wear it with white, beige, khaki, brown, black and blue.
