A true fashion victim
Yes, models do earn a lot of money. And get to keep the clothes (well, sometimes). And get to travel. And get to lay in garbage bins.... Huh? Yeah, you heard it right! This model actually had to lay in a garbage bin for a fashion shoot in Via Montenapoleone, Milan.

Missoni Home at the Salone del Mobile
The Missoni Home collection at the Salone del Mobile 2011 in Milan was truly beautiful.... Ahhh.... I wanted to have it all!! Besides the famous Missoni zig zag pattern, there were colourful flower patterns, stripes, checks and on and on....
I can hardly find the words to describe how gorgeous it all was! And I was not the only one.... all the visitors of the Salone kept taking photos at the Missoni stand (and refused to leave).
Can you blame them?

The Milan Breakfasts
Last thursday I attended one of The Milan Breakfasts, organised by Design Academy Eindhoven and the dutch institute for design and fashion, Premsela. The subtitle on the invitation was promising: coffee, croissants and conversations about design. And in fact it turned out to be a very interesting morning!
The Milan Breakfasts were a series of three discussions, held during the Salone del Mobile. The subject on thursday was 'trust'. Why do we - consumers - trust that the products that we buy will work? How can a manufacturer gain our trust? By using the 'right' designer? Or is it just about marketing and PR? Or maybe about quality and authenticity?
The insights were too many to mention. But you can check it out for yourself on: http://www.designacademy.nl/SaloneMilan2011/News/tabid/1840/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/339/TRUST-this-breakfast-the-milan-breakfasts.aspx
Besides the conversations, the people were interesting as well!!! A really arty farty crowd, wearing vintage and original accessories.

People... Pretty in prints
I spotted this lady on Corso Como in Milano and was immediately captured by her look. The two bold prints look great together and are sooo this season!

Shopping.... in Merano
Merano is located in the Italian province of Bolzano, in South Tyrol / Alto Adige. This beautiful city unites the best of two worlds: Italian and Austrian.
When you go shopping in Merano, you'll find Italian brands like Intimissimi, side by side with traditional Tyrolese shops, selling local delicacies and traditional clothing like 'dirndls'.
Make sure you don't miss the arcades of the Laubengasse! That's definitely the best street for shopping. (By the way, the arches will cover you from the rain and sun, so you can shop till you drop).
For the best food in town, go to Seibstock. They sell fresh pasta, wines, cheeses, speck, olive oil and more. For shoes.... you can pick any shop.... bring a big, fat wallet though...

People... pretty in orange
Jane is wearing one of the big colours of the season: orange! She combined it here with dark brown. Another option would be colour blocking (wearing it with other bright, contrasting colours).
