La Casa del Arroz, Havana, Cuba

La Casa del Arroz in Havana, Cuba is a great place to experience some authentic Cuban cooking! I chose the rice with vegetables,
but of course La Casa del Arroz serves rice with fish, pork and chicken ('arroz con pollo') as well.

The rice was spicy, but not too much!
The wine was pretty good too.

Manager / maître Alex was very kind and spoke perfect English.
(Telling me wonderful stories about a certain royal family...)

The only 'negative' thing I can say about this place was the heat...
the little patio was incredibly hot.
But hey, when in Cuba, who's complaining?!

Unfortunately the restaurant does not have a website,
so just drop by:

Hotel Hacienda Na Xamena, Ibiza

If you go to Ibiza and you're done with all the wannabe hippies or wannabees in general for that matter... then go to hotel Hacienda Na Xamena!

It's a gorgeous place, away from all the clubs and all the madness. The hotel was built in 1969 by Belgian architect Daniel Lipszyc, on top of the cliffs, overlooking the sea, located 180 meters above sea level.

I can't think of a better place to relax... ahh (can't wait to go back either)! The moorish tiles and the use of other local materials, make this place different from all the big hotel chains. It feels more like home. A luxurious home that is.

Urban Jungle... Milan

While I was wandering through Milan, I came across these fun grafittis. I love the real plants right in the middle of the painted ones!

People... the Japanese scene in Milano

"Chapeau!" to these Japanese visitors of the Salone del Mobile...
it takes strong people to go on in such difficult times!

This photo was taken in the courtyard of 10 Corso Como, Milan, Italy, which during Fashion Week and the Milanese Design Week, becomes something like a street theatre!

10 Corso Como, rooftop garden

Check out at this beautiful rooftop garden by 10 Corso Como! If you look around you, it's an urban jungle, with all the skyscrapers and construction works... but if you focus on the flowers, plants, art, statues and pottery... it's like a 'safe haven' or oasis. The perfect place to get away from it all. Too bad the weather wasn't very good when I was there, but still, I would really recommend it.
