I Looove... Orange!

I just looove orange fashion items! It's a flattering colour, as long as you pick the right nuance for your face and hair colour. And there's another reason.... it's the colour of the Dutch Royal Family and the Dutch people. Happy Queen's Night & Day everyone!

Breakfast fit for a Queen

Today I had breakfast that was fit for a (Dutch) Queen. The orange chocolates and the croissant dipped in orange chocolate were of course made for the upcoming investiture of King Willem Alexander, the first Dutch king since 1890.

Shops are going crazy preparing for the imminent celebrations... all the shop windows are decorated with orange (the colour of the Royal family, the House of Orange-Nassau) and red, white and blue (colours of the Dutch flag). Stay tuned for more orange updates!

Have a nice sunday!

Barong Barong store, Amsterdam

My favourite brand for friendship bracelets is definitely Barong Barong! No matter your style or favourite colour... they have a (stack) of bracelet(s) for everyone. And the good news: Barong Barong recently opened a monobrand store in the centre of Amsterdam.

To me it's Heaven! When I walked into the shop, I felt like a little girl in a candy store... I. WANTED. IT. ALL!!! All the bracelets by Barong Barong are designed in The Netherlands and handmade in Indonesia with silk, semi-precious stones and silver or goldplated finishings. So buying these babies is a good investment; they will stay beautiful for a long time.

Although friendship bracelets are their core business so to speak, Barong Barong also sells jewelry for men and women, bags, scarves and other accessories. Every item makes the perfect gift, whether it's for Mother's day, Father's day, a birthday or another special occasion. (Or just to spoil yourself!)

If you're having a hard time choosing, lovely store manager Banafse can help you out. Not in Amsterdam anytime soon? No worries, Barong Barong sells in various countries (Belgium, Germany, Spain, USA) and is working on an international webstore. In the mean time, you can always contact them for shipping information.

The theme of SO PR's press days was "The Fashion Circus"... referring to the (in)famous article by Suzy Menkes on the fashion scene, who according to Menkes nowadays look more "like peacocks than crows [...] Or, more accurately in the fashion world, the celebrity circus of people who are famous for being famous".

Whether you agree with her or not... fashion is still about looks, colours and creativity; about seeing and being seen; about standing out or blending in. I love the (fashion) circus... the bright colours, the outrageous prints, glitter and glamour, sugar candy, wild animals... birds of Paradise!

This was SO PR's version of the fashion circus... Thank you guys for an entertaining afternoon with loads of new ideas, inspiration and of course... fashion!!!
